Rondônia Film Festival opens with Energisa sponsorship
Virtual programming continues until September 24, with films available to movie lovers from all over Brazil
The second edition of CineRO - Rondônia Film Festival , officially kicked off this Sunday, August 25, with an opening ceremony at the Guaporé Theater. The festival's main objective is to broaden access to national cinema in Rondônia and promote the state's audiovisual production.
The official program runs until September 1, 2024, at the Teatro Guaporé and Cine Veneza. In addition to the screenings in cinemas, the project is holding screenings in alternative venues, such as schools and outlying neighborhoods, with themed shows dedicated to children's films, Pan-African cinema, films directed by women, among others. For those who won't be in Porto Velho, the festival is also offering a virtual exhibition until September 24, including 10 films produced in Rondônia. Finally, the program also includes workshops and talks, strengthening the local audiovisual market.
Sponsored by the Energisa Group and with the support of the Energisa Institute, this edition of the festival is made possible by the Cultural Incentive Law (Rouanet Law) and features a diverse and accessible program.

This year, the festival's curators received 1,701 entries and selected 135 works, including shorts, features, documentaries, animations and experimental films.
